Love your pinot grigio but wouldn’t know what cake to have with it, then look no further, here are a few flavour combinations that worked really well at my recent cake and wine afternoon tea:
- Cava (Juve & Camps Cinta Purpura Cava Reserva, Spain 2006) and lemon cake
- Pinot Grigio (Quelat, Ventisquero Pinot Grigio Reserva, Chile 2010) and carrot cake with cream cheese frosting
- Sauvignon Blanc (Nika Tiki Marborough Sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand 2010) and sticky toffee cupcakes with salted caramel frosting
- Tempranillo (Castillo de Manzanares Tempranillo Reserva, Spain 2003) or Rioja and chocolate brownie.
I’ll be adding more flavour combinations shortly but in the meantime if you would like any wine advice why not contact Lindley Fine Wines in Huddersfield who supplied the wine at my afternoon tea event.
